I'm 45 years of age and looking for a straight answer of eye color.?

I have three siblings, all of them have blue eyes except for me. I've begun to find that it is almost impossible for parents that both have blue eyes could have a child with green hazel eyes. Everyone in my family has blue eyes except for me. I need more precise in conclusion with an answer before I confront the situation. I know it could be to my childrens and my best interest to possibly be able to find health issues from a biological parent. I need to know who may be my direct biological parent, on the results of an answer pursue if further on asking a family mystery. Is it possible for two blue eyed parents to produce a child with hazel green eyes. And if it is possible, what would the likely percentage of that possibly be? IT is a hard thing to explain. YOur parents can carry genes that they do not have the traits of. There is a web site that explains eye genetics pretty well, it is simpler than what one would thing, but also kind of complex. You can not gauge your genetics by eye color alone. Read this easy to understand article and you might see that this is why they do not base parental genetics on eye colors, but other factors. It is just not that easy. Are their eyes ';true blue';? By that I mean are they always blue blue no matter what. some people say they have blue eyes, when in fact their eyes turn gray or green depending on the light or what they're wearing.





If the latter is true (blue/gray/green), then you don't have to worry - you have the gene for hazel eyes in the family. I think eyes that turn grey and green are a variant of hazel, they almost have to be.





True blue eyes are more rare than people think, because they think blue-gray or blue-green means ';blue';.
It's entirely possible that you got a ';green eye'; gene from your family, even though everyone else has blue eyes. I wouldn't confront anybody about this-- it's ridiculous to cause problems in your family over eye color.
I am the only person in my family who doesn't have bright baby blue eyes, and I look just like both my parents. There is no possible way I could be anyone elses kid.





You need to look at your whole family tree, not just the branch you cling to.

what? where did you hear that? that is absolutely not true. it is very ';possible';.

difficult to tell b/c eye color is an incomplete-dominance gene. Its not like you can use a punnit square for this one. i'm no geneticist, but it is very, very possible. say...i dont know. 20% chance? way more than ';almost impossible';.





one absolutely *cannot* assume ANYTHING about possible paternity based on eye color alone. that would be absurd.
people can have many traits that their parents dont SHOW its the difference in dominant and recessive genes. there is a grand chance that your children or grand children will pick up traits of your great grandparents that you were not even aware of
Yes, it's called traits. Family members from either side can produce many traits such as hair color, eye color, skin color, male pattern baldness and the like. Everybody in my family has blue eyes accept my sis and I which are both Hazel. Study on genes and chromosomes and you will find out just how the human body developes in looks.
There is a possibility depending on the exact colors....

ever heard of two white people having a black baby. yah its unusual. your parents have resseive genes that are for (ex) hazel and that its much much much more likly for you to have blue eyes. still its possible. the dominant gene is for blue eyes. however if the chromosones were pairing, there is a chance that it has the shot to have hazel. also its hard to find the percent cause i myself dont know your family's genetics and backround. hope this helps T_T yeah this may not be top notch cause i learned about this a LONG tiem ago.
I'd say the percentage is 50/50. Genetically speaking, you could have had a Great-grandmother/father that had hazel eyes. Aside from eye color, do you look more like one parent then the other? I've found, in my family at least, that eye color and hair color filter down in pairs...Blonde with Blue, Hazel with brown.
I think the more correct way of putting this is that two blue eyed parents can't produce a child with brown eyes. My father has blue eyes and my mother's are more gray. Neither my sister nor I have brown eyes. I married a man with greenish eyes and one daugher has gray/green eyes while the other's are dark gray.
