I recently got a 10 week old husky pup. However his eyes are not of same color. One eye is blue and the other one is brown. Should i take him to vet? I am worried there maybe some kind of defect or abnormality in the pup.Husky pup has 1 eye blue color and 1 eye brown color. why such abnormality?
Absolutely normal.
A husky can come in any color or combination of color(s) ranging from pure white to pure black and anything in between. The eyes can be any color or combination of colors including light blue to dark blue, green. amber to dark brown. They can have two of the same color, one of each (bi-eyed) or eyes that have two colors in the same eye (parti-eyed). Any of these are normal.
Our kids coat and eye colors are (were):
Our copper girls: Rustie (Bl / Bl), Missy ( Bl / Br),
Abby (Bl / Bl), Sheba (Bl / Bl %26amp; Am), Tasha (Br / Br)
Cream %26amp; orangeish girl: Molly (Br / Br)
Our black %26amp; white girls: Ashley (Bl / Bl), Queen (Bl / Bl),
Zoe (Bl / Bl), Lexie (Alexis) (Bl / Br)
Our Agoutie girl: Princess (Bl / Bl %26amp; Br)
Copper boys: Bandit (BL / Bl), Nanook (Bl / Bl)
B %26amp; W boy: Jake (Bl %26amp; Br / Bl %26amp; Br), Aileron (Bl / Bl %26amp; Br)
Grey cream boy: Demon ( Molly's littermate) (Br / Br)
White girls: (littermates): Mischka (Br / Br), Nakita (Bl %26amp; Br / Br)
As you can see there is no correlation between their coat and eye colors. Even double parti eye can happen (Jake).

Add: laciebrooke you might want to do some research on a subject prior to answering a question.
25 years of being owned by Siberian Huskies. I currently have 16 Huskies most of whom were rescued by us from people who didn鈥檛 know what they were getting into.Husky pup has 1 eye blue color and 1 eye brown color. why such abnormality?
I'm sorry to put this bluntly but how much research did you do before you bought a Husky?
Having one blue eye and one brown eye is considered standard for the breed (its called Complete Heterochromia, which simply refers to a difference in coloration, otherwise known as bi-eyed), as is having 2 blue eyes, 2 brown eyes, or eyes that are half brown and half blue in each eye, (known as partial Heterochromia, or a partial difference in coloration). The eyes should also be almond shaped (not round).
I must tell you that I am a little worried that you were un aware of the breed standard for a dog you bought, especially when it comes to this breed. Lots of people buy Husky's because they are stunningly beautiful and have no idea what they are getting into and they often end up handing the dog over to a breed specific rescue or a shelter because they are unequipped to handle its needs.
Either way that is very common and beautiful and please don't worry about it. If you have any question at all about husky's please feel free to email me (my email is on my profile) and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have or direct you to one of my contacts who breeds and shows Husky's. (I'll star this question in hopes that she see's it either way ok).
I am sorry if I am offending you, I swear it isn't my intention, its just that so many people end up abandoning this breed and Husky's are very close to my heart, I just would be devastated if it happened to another one. Anyways like I said, please feel free to email me, and hopefully your dog will have a good home for life with you!!
Hope this helps clear things up
Blessings
My North American Shepherd has one blue and one brown and it is fine.
It's actually called Heterochromia, which means a varation of color in the iris (which is the colored part of the eye). Vision is normal and not affected solely by the different colors and is not a medical problem. It's somewhat common in dogs and sometimes cats. It's especially common in ';Siberian Huskies, Great Danes, Dalmatians, and Malamutes.';
So I'd say no on the vet unless theres something else about how he seems to see. :)
Um, no that's sometimes normal in the breed. Lots of dogs have one blue one brown..it's not a medical issue.
But you should ALWAYS take a new puppy to the Vet immediately after getting one.
No defect, No abnormality.
The Kennel club recognizes Blue eyes, brown eyes, Parti-colored and Bi eyed.
There is nothing wrong.
100% normal.
I have an aussie mix that has one light blue eye and one brown eye. I also used to go to a family dr and she had two different color eyes.
Completely normal for the breed. It does not denote impure breeding, blindness in one eye, or anything else.

heterochromia is common among huskies - so don't worry :)
It's quite normal to get a husky with different colour eyes I have one with blue eyes. And lots of luck with you husky. Very stubborn
That's normal...and pretty too, what are you worried about?
You got a husky before you noticed the eye color??
Strange...
Its natural and u hardly see those my cousin has one his name is Tahoe :) Dont be so concerned as long as he/shes healthy.
sometimes it is a sign of not being purebred.
btw...an Alaskan Husky has brown eyes and a Siberian Husky has blue...so you should be more detailed to which kind of husky breed you have
